Company

Swecem AB is a subsidiary of Swerock within the Peab Group. The company was established in 2013 with an import terminal of cement and fly ash in Helsingborg in South Sweden.

History

In 2017, a cement terminal was established in Koverhar in southern Finland. From Koverhar, Swecem can supply Swerock Oy with materials throughout Finland, from Turku in the west, Helsinki in the south, to Vaasa in the north.

2018, the import of fly ash to Helsingborg ceased and instead GGBS (Ground Granulated Blastfurnace slag) began to be imported.

In 2019, a GGBS terminal was established in Oxeloesund which is about 120 km south of Stockholm.

During the autumn of 2020, the MERIT brand will be acquired from SSAB, which will be produced in the own production facility in Oxeloesund. The raw material comes from SSAB, which is located in the same port area. Production is planned to start during the first quarter of 2021.

In the summer of 2021, another MERIT terminal will be established in Skellefteaa in north Sweden.
